Audionews.ru and Gfxnews.ru open for new registrations – 2/12/2008

It's the beginning of a new month and we can see a lot of private torrent trackers with monthly open signups opening registrations for new users. Yesterday we saw Appzuniverse and Pro Audio Torrents opening up and today we have Gfxnews and Audionews; two well known specialized torrent trackers from Russia. For those who already don't know what these are, here is a brief introduction. Gfxnews is a private torrent tracker and a forum for graphics, animation, 3D content, templates, graphics editing software &tutorials, web design software/tutorials and other related material. Audionews is all about digital music authoring, editing and other music related extras (audio Apps, Sample Libraries, Tutorials, Sheet Music and other stuff related to digital music).

Although these trackers are from Russia, the content and language used on the forums is English. Open signups on both these trackers usually last for 1-2 days. Unless you want to wait till next month, I suggest you register now. For registration URLs and links for full tracker reviews, read on.

Here is another update on private trackers with open signups. This post is somewhat similar to out previous article titled '10 Private Trackers open for signup' from a few days back; here too we will be providing summarized descriptions of 8 popular private trackers currently open for new user registrations. Since all of these trackers have been reviewed in detail in our private trackers section before, detailed information will not be repeated in this post. Limewire Pro 4.18.8 Final

We've been blabbering about private torrent trackers so much that any newcomer to file sharing scene reading this blog would think BitTorrent is the only means to swap files. Well it's not an there are plenty of other means to do that. LimeWire is a file sharing client which can be used to access and share files on the Gnutella network. Since this software is coded in Java and runs using the Java VM, it benefits from the platform independence of the language (Windows, Mac OS X and Linux is supported). But if you are going to use LimeWire, make sure you have your firewall, anti virus and anti spyware apps armed and ready – Gnutella network has quite a few nasty malware floating around. As of 2/12/2008, latest version of Limewire is 4.18.8 (contains only minor changes over the previous build).
