Arabfilms - Download Arabic movies and music torrents – Signups open Posted: 04 Dec 2008 06:44 AM CST Some good news on the private torrent tracker front. Arabfilms, a much sought after private torrent tracker, is currently open for signups. As the name suggests, this is a tracker specializing in Arabic movies, music and anime (personally, I'm not a fan of Arabic movies but I know for a fact that a lot of people are looking to get into this tracker). If you are a fan of movies and music from middle eastern countries, this tracker will be of great use to you. There are currently over 4000 active torrents on Arabfilms. The exact number of users on this tracker is unknown but by looking at the peer numbers on most of the torrents I guess it's quite a lot. Site interface is in English so even those who cannot understand Arabic can easily find their way around. However there are hardly any English movies on this tracker (If you are looking for English movies try dedicated English movie trackers such as TehConnection (Open), Wunza (Open), etc). Arabfilms does not usually open signups can even when they do, open signups don't last very long. If you are interested, hurry up and get in while you can. Pirates crack Grand Theft Auto 4 (GTA 4) DRM Posted: 04 Dec 2008 03:00 AM CST Two days ago, we reported how a Clone DVD of Grand Theft Auto 4 got leaked to BitTorrent networks around the world. This release was downloaded by many pirates but they were refrained from playing as the game was protected by SecuROM Digital Rights Management (DRM) software. However, just after 2 days since the game's official North American release, pirates have managed to release the first partially working crack for the game which bypasses the SecuROM DRM. Up until now, there have been various releases of Grand Theft Auto 4 on both private and public torrent trackers, one click hosting sites as well as usenet newsgroups. Releases by groups THEPIRATEGAY, 0X0008 and ePEN15 but these were all Clone DVDs or contained non working cracks. The first working crack for GTA 4 comes from a group who identify themselves as CRACKING GODS. This was stolen by scene group LOBO and then PROPERed by FCUKTHESCENE (A P2P group). Even if you decided to pirate the game, managed to get hold of a cracked copy, bypassed the activation and got the game to work does not mean that all your troubles are over. In a recent interview given to IGN UK, Rockstar dropped some interesting comments about cracked versions of GTA 4:
It is apparent that Rockstar are talking about SecuROM (and FADE) triggers present in the game. Triggers are the part of DRM protection that is embedded into the game code (group HATRED once call this SecuROM 'molesting' the game code). These are triggered once a pirated copy is detected. In such cases, game will usually launch just fine but something that is critical to progress in-game would be disabled (best example would be scenario surrounding Mass Effect's galaxy map). Even with GTA 4 cracks by CRACKING GODS, LOBO and FCUKTHESCENE, it looks like triggers are still present in the executable. Pirates who used the crack to bypass the DRM protection (online activation + DVD check) ran into odd in game behavior such as vehicles accelerating without user command or shaky or wobbly camera (hence why we called the crack 'partially' working). Currently the only workarounds for these problems seem to be renaming a dll file, restarting the game and not connecting to internet (even these do not work sometimes). For a more permanent solution, pirates and those who don't like the DRM on their systems will have to wait for a PROPER crack which has all triggers removed. That being said, the fact remains that there is now a cracked version of GTA 4 on the net and it is being downloaded by thousands of individuals as we speak. UPDATE: PROPER released by 'Wurstsuppe'. Along with instructions on how to use the release, he mentions the following in the .NFO:

Gamato (Fish-Torrents) - Greek torrent tracker signups open Posted: 03 Dec 2008 07:30 PM CST Gamato (aka fish torrents) is a Greek based private torrent tracker. It's a general tracker which indexes movies, TV shows, games, software, mobile stuff, E-Books and torrents related to other general categories. Gamato somehow reminds me of trackers like Arenabg (Open), Zamunda.NET and RARBG (open). Just like these trackers, Gamato too is huge - both in terms of user base and the number of torrents indexed. At time of this post Gamato tracks over 50000 torrents and has a user base of nearly 250000 members. As mentioned above, this tracker has Greek origins. That doesn't mean English speaking users should consider the site useless; Majority of Gamato's content comprise of English releases (scene, P2P and user uploads). There are some Greek release as well but you should be able to identify them easily. Apart from individual releases, Gamato does have a fair amount of packs. The following screenshot shows a few of these: Thanks to the site's huge user base, most of the indexed torrents are very well seeded. Furthermore, you should not run into any trouble navigating the site (even if you do not know Greek) as major functions are labeled in English. Gamato is currently open for signup and interested readers may join for free. Site Name: Gamato.info (Fish-Torrents) Signup URL: http://www.gamato.info/account.php Categories: Number of torrents in a category (at time of this post) is displayed next to the title.
